About Me

The DIY Family Man: I am a many faceted man. I'm thirty years old, a veteran of war, an ICU nurse, a singer/ songwriter, and novice woodworker. Most importantly though, I am the proud father of an adorable, rambunctious 18 month old son, and husband of the most amazing and inspiring woman I've ever met. Our family means everything to me and it's about to get a little bit bigger some time around June. I've always been passionate about DIY. I love to learn new things and I love to share what knowledge I have with others. I am a firm believer that it is far better to teach someone to fish so they may eat forever than it is to just give them a fish so they eat only for one meal. There is an overwhelming sense of pride and empowerment that comes when we make something that's really creative, useful, or amazing and I believe everyone should seek out and experience that feeling. After years of using the information I've found online to better myself and my surroundings I feel like it's time to embrace the community that's taught me so much and give back in whatever way I can.
